Reverb+ Acoustic Shades

Reverb+ acoustic shades. Reverb+ (ReverbPlus LLP) is Enlighten Pro's own acoustic brand. The shades are PET-felt panels that absorb sound while finishing a wall or ceiling; the 23 stock colours are shown below.

Each panel is a non-woven felt of 100% PET polyester fibre, thermally bonded without glue. Between 60% and 75% is post-consumer recycled content, drawn from used drinks bottles — so the material can contribute to LEED credits. It is Class A fire-rated (ASTM E84; EN 13501 B-s1,d0), formaldehyde-free and low-VOC (CDPH Standard Method v1.2), waterproof and light in weight. Shade-card panels are 9 mm and 12 mm thick on a 2440 × 1220 mm sheet; larger flat panels are made up to 2440 mm wide and 48 mm thick.

How the acoustics work. The tangled fibre matrix traps incoming sound and turns it into a small amount of heat through friction, so less energy is reflected back into the room. Absorption climbs with panel thickness and, above all, with the air gap behind the panel: in Reverb+ testing a bare single-layer felt reads NRC 0.30, a 50 mm cavity behind it lifts that to 0.65, a 100 mm cavity to 0.80, and a 50 mm cavity backed with 50 mm of stone wool reaches 1.00. Published performance is NRC 0.30–1.00 depending on how the panel is mounted — close to twenty times a plain drywall.
